Position Summary
The Shipping Support Specialist manages the shipping dock and ensures LTL and Truck orders are picked properly, stacked and wrapped to minimize transit damage and shipped with the lowest cost carrier. The Shipping Support Specialist is the last check point prior to AM’s orders reaching our customers, therefore dependability is critical. The Shipping Support Specialist ensures top quality is always maintained and specific customer shipping instructions are followed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prior to wrapping, inspects and verifies each pallet picked accurately and stacked properly to ensure no crushing or edge damage
  • Weighs, wraps each pallet, and labels each pallet shipped
  • Obtains rate quotes and selects lowest cost carrier
  • Prepares and prints accurate Bill of Ladings (BoL) for outgoing Truck and Less than Truckload (LTL) shipments, following customer specific shipping instructions
  • Attaches BoL to Sales Order in NetSuite
  • Ensures LTL shipments ship by the end of each day, if possible
  • Ensures freight costs are added to NetSuite item fulfillments when shipping outside the system
  • Communicates with freight carriers daily
  • Loads trucks and ensures each pallet is loaded on the appropriate carrier
  • Provides freight quotes for sales team as requested
  • Assist with resolution of shipping or transit issues
  • Pick and stage sales orders as necessary
Position Requirements
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in warehouse/distribution operations, shipping and receiving required
 
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Must be reliable and able to oversee multiple issues at once
  • Must have good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be able to utilize basic reading and arithmetic skills
  • Self-starter; able to work well without constant direction
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Licenses & Certifications
  • Valid driver’s license
  • OSHA certified for Lift Truck Operation
 
Travel Requirements
  • Willingness to travel up to 5%
Estimated Wage Range: $30K - $40K+
